About the CMF Board
This CMF board represents a deliberate fusion of the two CMF directions—Calm Elegance and Energy Urban—translated into a single, cohesive surface strategy. The intent is to create an earbuds design that feels balanced yet expressive, where calm, nature-inspired surfaces coexist with bold, urban accents to appeal to younger, design-aware users.Soft wave patterns in green and grey are integrated directly into the plastic through in-mold finishes, forming the primary surfaces of the earbuds. These flowing geometries reference organic movement and sound waves, adding depth and tactility while maintaining a refined, calm visual character. The use of matte finishes on these areas reduces glare and fingerprints, reinforcing everyday usability and a premium hand-feel. In contrast, knurled matte ABS textures and orange accent elements introduce energy and grip. These zones are strategically placed on interaction areas, offering tactile feedback while visually signaling performance and motion. Matte-to-gloss variations on the orange components create subtle highlights, allowing stripes and details to stand out without overpoTogether, this layered CMF approach positions the earbuds as a single design platform with multiple expressions built into the surface language itself.
