Design Brief — Mid-Range Ceiling Fan (India Market)
Design a mid-range ceiling fan tailored for the Indian market, featuring distinctive deco trims that elevate its visual appeal. The fan should balance contemporary styling with subtle decorative accents, creating a product that feels premium yet accessible. Focus on clean geometry, reliable performance, and trims that provide a unique identity without overwhelming the overall form. The result should resonate with diverse Indian interiors while offering a differentiated aesthetic within the mid-range category.
Housing Design
The fan housing is designed around the given technical constraints, with an aluminium body sized to a 182 mm diameter as required by the motor specifications. The form is kept bulbous and round to suit aluminium manufacturing while maintaining a soft, balanced appearance. A decorative motor ring is added as a distinct element to introduce character and visual identity without affecting functionality. The overall design balances material limitations, dimensional requirements, and a clean, rounded design language.
Blade Trim Design
The blade trim concept is designed in two-part system to create visual hierarchy. A decorative accent element features a metallised finish that adds a refined highlight, while the primary trim body matches the fan’s overall colour palette for seamless integration. This dual-material approach balances subtle ornamentation with cohesive form, enhancing perceived quality without overpowering the fan’s design language.
